Evaluation Question 4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? (KP)

Evaluation Question 3. What have you learned from your audience feedback? (KP)

In school we held a media showcase showing all the year 12&13 films everyone had made our the following year, we showed the films so that the response for our feedback will be non biased because the audience saw a different range of films. For our audience feedback we held a media showcase to get feedback from a range of different people. We all had a input for the making of the audience feedback, as I came up with the question to be asked, then Jess Higgs filmed the feedback and Jodie Phillips was the interviewer. The responses we had to our music video were very good. The following 3 questions were about what they thought about our video, the questions which we asked were:

1.Did you understand the concept and narrative of our music video?
The feedback from the our video shows that every single person that we interviewed understood our video. The majority of the answers from the audience feedback understood the bullying aspect from our video, which is good because that is what we were aiming for people to understand. The response from the video were very good people like the cycle shown in the video where the bully bullies it's victim then the cycle reverses and the bully is put in his situation, then eventually the cycle ends when they become friends again.I think why people liked our music video so much is because that the narrative or the story behind the music video happens in day to day reality.
2.Do you think the video raises awareness for bullying?

3. Is there any elements that you think we could improve on?
The repsonce from this question was that there wasn't really much we could improve on but there were some were some little things we could of done during the editing process by making the cuts shorter and faster to

What I have learnt from the audience feedback is that as group we have produced a good narrative music video and everyone understood the story line well. I have also learnt from the responses that

Evaluation Question 2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary task?

Evaluation Question 1. In what way does your promotion packaged for your album (the video, digipak and magazine advert), use develop and challenge forms and conventions?

From the beginning of this year I started to research into the conventions of music videos by doing this I decided to analyse several different types of genre of music videos. I looked at r&b, rock and also pop, by looking at the different types of genre music videos I was able to see differences and similarities in music videos through the music industries. Looking at the different types of genre music videos gave me ideas on how to produce my own music video with in a group. We all chose to look at the pop music video genre because it looked more fun and exciting than the others. But we didn't want to make the average normalized pop music video we wanted a show a message through a narrative we went against the convention of the pop genre music video by doing this.
We decided as a group for our music video we wanted to produce a message and meaning through the video and that’s why chose ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry. In advance to this we looked at the lyrics and how it mentions ‘you held me down but I got up’ and ‘you’re going to hear me roar’ I feel that these lyrics really started the thinking process for our music video and that’s why we pick this song. We wanted our music video to be a narrative on bullying so we decided to look at the audience age for the music video, the target audience for our music video are for the age 12-16 year old as I feel bullying has a big impact on peoples life’s from theses ages.

We wanted to look at realism on bullying as bullying happens in every day to day life so some people could relate to the things which were being shown through our music video. For more research into a narrative music video we had to come up with a strong story line, we had to make sure it made sense and that it could flow in time with the music.

We looked at the lyrics while filming and how our filming through the shots fitted in time with the music, this then conformed to Andrew Goodwin’s theory because the lyrics are then observed through the video. The narrative of our music video also conforms to the ‘Hypodermic Syringe’ theory as the video is trying to produce a message on the realism of bullying which happens every day in schools all around the world.

In our video it does some show some conventions of the pop genre of music videos because our film has fast cut edits to build up the main part of the video, fast cut edits are usually used in this way. In our music video we have also conform to the convention of pop genre music video by the lyrics being in time with image in the video. In our group we tried as hard as we could to make sure the lyrics were in time with the video and i think this was really effective because it worked well as you can below is gifs showing part of our music video.

This is a gif taken from our film where the lyrics for this shot were 'You held me down but I got up'this shows

Media Showcase

In school we have held a media showcase showing all the films for year 12&13 that we have made. I have produced a poster using clips from our film to advertise it around the school for people to come and watch. I also bought popcorn, lemonade and squash and set up a stall in the school selling these products.

Below is the poster I have created using photoshop to advertise our film to be shown at the media showscase that was held in school. I have taken screen shots from our film and put them on the poster so that the audience had an idea of what some of the film is going to be was going to be like.
Below is the poster I have created also using photo shop to advertise the refreshments which were available. The media showcase went very successful and we sold all the food that we bought in. For the media showcase we made a bit of profit selling the refreshments to the teachers, pupils, and invited guests, the profit we have made will be going to towards buying new equipment for the media department.

After the media showcase was over we interviewed some people asking them questions. The questions we asked them were.
1. Do you understand the concept and narrative of our music video?
2.Do you think the video raises awareness for bullying?
3. Is there any elements that you think we could improve on?

We decided to hold a media showcase so that everyone can see the range of different films that we had made over the following year. The year 12's had made horror/ thriller films but year 13's had made music videos based on different genres. I think the main reason that our media showcase was so sucessful because we stuck lots of posters around the school to advertise the event and the refreshments available draw people in giving the media showcase a professional movie premiere.
