Choosing the logo

For my digipak I wanted it to have logo which linked in with album name, the album is called prism and I wanted to show symbolism in my digipak by put a prism on it to be a logo. I had many ideas for what the logo was going to look like I have looked at lots of different colourful triangles to be shown as my logo of the symbolize of the album name 'Prism'.

.Firstly I have found this triangle featuring pictures of tigers eyes. I have to decided to look at this a possible logo for my digipak because it has a tiger on it and that will fit in with the lyrics for the song roar. The lyrics in the song being 'You're going to hear me roar'.
In the end I decided not to chose this as my digipak logo because it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the album and its other tracks which are on there.

Another triangle I have decided to look at a possible logo for my album is this one below. I decided to look at this because it looks like the triangle Katy Perry has use to advertise her prismatic world tour. The pastel colours on the triangle would reflect to the original colours use on Katy Perry prism album.
I decided not to use this more but find a more colourful logo to use for the album to try a achieve conventions of the pop genre for my digipak.
This is the logo I have decided to use as the logo for the promotion of my digipak. I have decided to use this one because of the colourful triangles which is conveying to the pop genre. I have also decided to use this one because I fell that the logo of the triangles will reflect the different stages of the album through it showing it the symbolism of the album name which is called prism. I have decided to use this one also because it is attractive and appealing to the eye which will make my target audience more appealed to it.

What is a Digipak?

A Digipak is a piece of packaging you find in the inner surface of the CD case. A digipak is a gatefold which is either made out of paper or card and is inserted inside the casing.
Digipaks were created by Meadwestavco

How digi-paks benefit music artists by having information on a gaterfold about their album or single and the production making the track or songs, it also has information of all the people who helped with production, the song writing, recording, other featuring artists.

The size of digipak 12.5x12.5mm

Editing (JH)

For our film we have used I movie to edit our film together Jess Higgs did majority of the editing for our film. There wasn't many problems that occurred during film but there were a few. Firstly the editing problem was that we really had when Jess edited the film was when we put the music track over the top of the filming the sounds that we tried to mute during the filming still appeared to come up over the top of the song. Eventually the problem was resolved and there wasn't any noises interrupting the song in our music video.
Another editing problem that occurred that I movie decided to play half our music video then the rest of the video just came up with a black screen with the song still playing but no narrative video, that problem was also resolved.
Here is a screenshot of the editing process on the precision editor choosing what effect we were going to put on a scene of our music video.

Here is screenshots of choosing the title fonts and colours for our music video which was used on imovie.
Another thing during the editing process wasn't really a problem but just deciding if our film was going to have a title at the beginning or at the end or not even have a title at all. I have looked at titles on the post above this and explained why we didn't use a title in our music video.

Here are some shots of edit and effects we have used in our film Jess Higgs did the editing but as a group we all helped decided where the effects went and what effects we wanted on our film.
In this scene of editing is a flash back blur effect where we combined two pieces of filming over the top of each other which gave it's flash back and that is what we were aiming for it to do.In this scene it shows where the bully is sitting in the toilet reflecting on what he has done.

In this scene of editing is a blur effect and black and white effect over the top of our filming, we chose this effect to show the darkness, isolation and sadness the victim went through the bullying stage which looks really effective and I think works really well.

This scene of editing shows the combination of two scene for the flask back for the bully sitting in the toilet think about what he has done.
For this scene of editing there is the same black and white effect and soft focus effect as before nostalgically the flashbacks.

This is another scene where the combination of the two scenes combined together for the bully flash back the editing in this scene has soft focus on it.

On this scene of editing process there is a slight colour change and effect to the scene, we decided to have an effect with a dark outline and shadow around the frame because it focused more on the running scene and showed the motions more

On this scene the change of colour of the scene has been changed to a darker colour  due to the process of bullying being shown.

This scene is a scene of the bully pushing the victim around the school we had changed the colour of this scene to show the representation of the bullying being taken place as it is not a happy time in the victims life so that is why we decided to use darker colours to find the mood and the scene better.

Conventions of Pop Music Videos

The Genre of pop music first came about in the 1950's in Great Britain it originated from the United States. The average pop music video last for about 3-5 minutes maybe even more sometimes.

The imagery in pop music videos are the fashionable clothes they wear there is normally lots of dancing going on also there is mainly teenagers featuring in the music videos which attracts the teenage audience rather well. The people in pop music videos are happy and look like they are enjoying themselves.

Main Story Board (JH)

Here is the main story board for our music video, these storyboards were created by Jess Higgs. The storyboards are label with the shots we are going to use and also where the scene will take place.
From our original ideas we had to change our story board as we went along because we had some complications for finding enough people to film, we didn't have props and the weather wasn't acceptable to film on the day we had planned even though we had planned shooting with our shooting schedule because it was easier to make it when everyone was available

The beginning of the music video will start with birds eye view of a boy who is isolated in the toilet eating his lunch,he is in the toilet eating is his lunch because he is getting bullied and has no where to go because of it. Theres no music at the start just silence this sets the scene of the music the video because the boy is alone and suffers in silence. Then it will go and zoom out into a low angle shot of the bully and his friend kicking the door of the outside of the toilet the victim is in.Then it will zoom out into a high angle shot of the pair smacking door of the cubicle toilet the victim is in. The camera will the go into the toilet and focus on the victim then he puts his hands on his head then we will relive his flash backs. During this e will not use any dialogue through our film but just the music of Katy Perry Roar to show using a narrative.
The flask backs will consist of shwoing  a long shot the bully skating through the corridor then passing by his friends and giving high five to one of them. The bully will then skate around the corner through a door into the next corridor where he sees is victimn and violently pushes him into the wall before skating off before it going onto the next scene.
The next scene will be set in the maths block showing the bully standing next to his friend talking but then he turns around as soon as he sees his victim. He will once again push the victim to the floor and also making him and his books going flying. The bully and his friend will then laugh at him for pushing him over and the victim will feel small and humiliated. We will show another low angle shot of the victim  picking up his books before fades into the next scene.

After this we will then pan back into the toilet scene before the victim opes the door and pushes the bully and goes running out of the toilets and into a class room kicking tables and chairs over tho show the anger from bullying that has built up inside of him.

Location Shots(JH)

Below are the locations shots for our film which is being filmed in Pencoed Comprehensive School.Jess  took these photoa around the school, these are the places where our film is going to be set.

The shot is of a school class room where there will be bullying taking place and the teacher takes no notice of it happening. There will be paper thrown at the victim by the bully and his friend in the classroom.

This shot is of the school field where the victim fights back at the bully and pushes him full force and pushes him over onto the floor.

This shot is of the school toilets where the victim is isolated in the toilet hiding from the bully and his friends. The victim sits in the cubicle with the locked door, eating his lunch and crying this is where isolation theme will be mainly shown.

This shot is of the school corridor where the bully skates past on his skateboards around the corner towards the victim and then pushes the victim into the wall.

The majority of our film is going to be filmed on the school grounds and the filming is going to take place in different parts of the school.
