Titinium David Guetta Analysis

I have chosen to anaylise this video because i feel that this video and lyrics will are very similar with the song 'roar' by Katy Perry. The video has a very similar narrative to the type of video we are going to the produce but with the song Roar by Katy Perry. The video we are planning on making has a theme of isolation and the video was titanium shows that so that's why I have decided to look at the music video for ideas for our music video we are going to produce.

Genre- The Genre for this music video is pop

Audience- The audience for this video is for teenagers/young adults and also for both genders. It is for both genders as the song is sand by a women and the  producer is a male dj and also the main character shown in the video is also a male who is a teenager so that's why it will apply for the teenager audience aswell. The song is also a very popular hit in the music charts so that will also be appealing for the teenage/young adults eye.

Narrative- The narrative for this music video is concept because the music video is based around an isolated boy

Mise en scene-

Same Girl - Usher ft R.Kelly

Audience
The audience for this music video is for teenagers who like to listen to R&B , the main target audience is males. The video could also be for a female audicne because the desensitisation theory is used in this video because they way the women are bertrayed, the way the women are dressed are half dressed some women could see this video as think its normal to be dressed in a way because they've seen it in the video

Genre
The genre for this video is R&B music.

Narrative
The narrative of this music video is of R&B genre. There are two men who are with the same girl well that's what they think well in fact that the girl the are about 'same girl' has an identical twin. They are both of the phone talking about this girl and come to conclusion that they are both talking to the same girl, they make a plan to meet up with the girl at the same to catch her out but are suprised when they realise she has a twin.

Representation
The representation in this music video of R&B shows the wealthy rich life style, big hotel rooms, top floor overlooking New York City. The representation of R&B is shown really well in this video, the jewellery is big a impact such as the big gold chains, the private jets, the clothing the two men wear are very similar contrast with each other maybe that's why they liked the same type of girl, smoking cigars are all very R&B this video is very typical R&B. The way the both men speak it is not normal it is more like 'gangsta', also the way women are betrayed in the video half dressed is very typical in R&B videos.

Analysis- The mise en scene in the video represents that they are wealthy and rich. The hotels represents that they are rich as they look 5 star and have a view of the sky scrappers in New York.

Media Theorists

Andrew Goodwin Music Video Theory
Andrew Goodwin is theorist who is linked to music videos. He analyzes music videos in 5 different ways, firstly though the beats and the lyrics of the song. His theory analyses the beats of the music, the narrative and performance, the relation of the visuals shown in the song and the technical aspects in music videos.

Richard Dyer
Richard W.Dyer was born 1945 he is English and is specialised in Cinema.Richard dyer was born in Leeds but went to study french at the of university St Andrews but then went  into studying theatre then later into studying a PhD in English at the University of Birmingham.

Richard Dyers theory is linked to the pop genre music. Dyer star theory is linked with 4 main things and they are the audience and institution, the constructions and the hegemony which are the cultural beliefs. The audience and institution relate to the way the stars make their money by being a successful pop star, the institution of the theories
amends the pop stars audience for their target audience.
The construction of the of David Dyer star theory suggests that the audience for the star is built up and it is not a real
prospective of the the star but a false image.
The hegemony of the cultural beliefs of Richards Dyer star theory also suggests that stars are something which we admire as idols of the real world, people will copy the way the see their stars, dress, their colour of their hair and the way they act

Contemporary Media Landscape

Contemporary Media Landscape is the way we use technology to access music videos. We use technology in different we access music videos over the internet on different social media websites, we access music videos mainly using YouTube as it is easy to use and quick. YouTube is a really way to access music videos as you can also share them onto to other social networking sights such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Google+ and many more, below every music video on YouTube there is a share button so you can share onto the social networking sites. People can share these videos onto the social networking sites to show their friends or for other people to see what type of music they like or maybe they just like the video for it. I use Facebook and Twitter frequently and share the videos to my friends if I find a song I like or just share it for other people to see it, I also have a look at videos by other people have shared on social networking sites to see what type of music other people like.

Spotify is a great way to find new music as I use spotify myself. Spotify has genres of music on there it is also downloadable as and app on your phone which I use on a daily basis and you can also download it on your computer which I also have. To use spotify it gives you and option to log in with Facebook to play your music through the app and it shares on Facebook of what song you are listening to. Cross convergence of Facebook and spotify is helpful for both companies because people will see what you are listening to on Facebook and might also like it aswell which will benefit both companies gaining more people using both of the website and app.

Facebook is a massive way of sharing your favourite music videos online. Not only can you share your favourite songs and videos by your favourite artist but the artists or artist can also do the same by sharing their latest videos.

On tumblr you can share music videos and also you can create a playlist via YouTube and use scm music player to create a running music on you blog whilst browsing tumblr.

Twitter you can also share your videos but you will get music videos promote to you on your twitter even if you didn't want them to appear. This is a way the artists or artist get more views YouTube on their music and promote their songs to to get downloaded to make it into the official chart.

YouTube plays a massive part to the music industry. Millions and millions of people use YouTube everyday to watch music videos. People can watch them on the go on a mobile app and using a laptop. The most views artists or artist have on their music videos the higher up the music chart they will be due to the popular demand of people watching their music videos.

Other Ways you can look for music video is by watching TV on the music channels, the biggest music channel is MTV because it broadcasts music video worldwide giving the channel a massive wider audience response to the music videos. MTV shows all types of genres of music which is popular because it doesn't just have a precise genre they base the music videos they show. MTV is a 24 hour TV channel showing the latest music and the old music. It is popular because it a worldwide based TV program so there is a never a time of the day no one is watching the TV channel.
